Molasses Stack Cake

 

3 c. Martha White self-rising flour

¾ c. sugar

1 ½ tsp. ginger

½ c. oil

½ c. molasses

2 eggs

½ c. hot tap water – more or less

applesauce

cinnamon

cloves

sugar

 

Mix dry ingredients. Add oil, molasses, eggs and water.  Stir – this will make a stiff dough.  Make the cakes thin. This will make 5 or 6 stacks.  Bake at 350 for 10 – 12 minutes.  When cool, stack layers adding a mixture of applesauce, cinnamon, sugar, and cloves in between.
