Old Fashioned Apple Dumplings

Unbaked pie crust

6 apples

butter or margarine

sugar

cinnamon

Sauce:

6 C milk

1 ½ C sugar

1 ½ tsp cinnamon

4 – 5 Tbsp flour

Divide pie crust into 6 balls.  Roll  out each one large enough to wrap one apple.  Place cored, unpeeled apple in center and fill centers with large pat of butter.  Drop a tablespoon of sugar on butter and dust with cinnamon.  Bring crust up and fold over top, place each apple in aluminum foil and seal.  You can freeze for later use.  Place in a 9 x 12  pan, top up.  Put a small amount of water in bottom of pan.  Cook about 1 ½ hours at 255 degrees – open top; continue cooking until brown.

Sauce:  Mix sugar, cinnamon and flour – add to milk that has been poured into medium heavy saucepan.  Cook on medium heat, stir after to prevent sticking – until thickens to a gravy texture.  Spoon over dumplings – Enjoy!
