Ingredients:
2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 sticks (3/4 c.) margarine
2 eggs
1 cup cold coffee
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
3 cups flour
1/2 lb. powdered sugar for icing
dates, nuts, raisins (optional)
Directions:
Cream brown sugar, margarine, and eggs. Dissolve soda in coffee
and add to creamed mixture. Add flour and baking powder. Add
nuts, dates, or raisins (optional). Spread on greased and floured
12x17-inch cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool
1 minute and then ice with powdered sugar icing
