AUNT BETTY'S MEATLOAF
Loaf:
2 lb. ground chuck1/4 to 1/2 c. crushed crackers2 eggs1/2 c. sweet and sour sauce (see below)1/4 to 1/2 c. wheat germ (optional) salt and pepper to taste1/4 c. onions (if desired)
Mix all ingredients, adding 1/2 cup of sweet and sour sauce. Cover the meatloaf with remaining sauce. Bake at 300 to 375° depending on whether you use loaf or flat pan. This is good sliced cold for sandwiches.
Sweet and Sour Sauce:
1 small can tomato sauce1/4 c. brown sugar1/4 c. vinegar mustard to taste
Mix sauce ingredients. Use as directed in main recipe.
