2 lbs. fish fillets
salt + pepper
1 lg onion sliced
1 c white table wine (Sauterne or Chablis)
3 tbsp butter or margarine
2 fresh tomatoes sliced or 1 can tomato sauce
1/2 green pepper sliced
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce


Any white fish, sole, halibut, sea bass, catfish, or salmon may be used.

Sprinkle fish with salt and pepper. Cover with sliced onion.

Pour wine over all and let stand 30 minutes.

Melt butter in lg shallow baking pan.

Remove fish and onion from wine and place in pan. Cover with tomatoes, green pepper, and sprinkle with salt.

Bake in 375 degree oven about 35 minutes or until fish is tender basting frequently with a mixture of the wine in which the fish was soaked and the worcestershire sauce.
